At 7:00 am this was the first thing I saw. Not the beautiful Bay Area sky are the sparkling waters of Lake Merritt but GARBAGE! Garbage that had been dumped from the footbridge to the Amphitheater all the way to the Pergola. This is totally unacceptable; these cans need to be locked. I have made this request on several ocassions but to no avail. City leadership claims the Lake is the "jewel of Oakland". Yet they treat it like cheap costume jewelry. Public Works this has already been cleaned up. Thank you for all that you do.
