Trees which are dying were identified as Black Ash. Black Ash was planted in the boulevards to increase diversity. Approximately 10 years ago we identified that Black Ash was not tolerant of the soil conditions of our boulevards so plantings were discontinued. The dieback seen here was very typical of all Black Ash when they reached this size. Trees are scheduled for removal with a public works contractor. No disease or insect issues played a factor in their decline.
Request 16-15283-001 has been resolved with the following comments: Public works tree trimming contractor removed the dying trees along Maverick Dr. on 8/2/16.
