Please send all this to Mayor Libbey and her so called crew. Contact your council member and demand answers. Get your neighbors to do the same. These are public parks, the rain excuse is void already, so the city needs to f..ing do something. If they don't mayor and her crew need to find another job on election day.

This why most of these people are living on streets, sidewalks and in the parks. Not only do they not get what there problems are they do not care.

Are you kidding me? I woke up just this morning to go to work and literally nothing has changed. How can the city claim this is closed? This is ridiculous.

Because, I'm pretty sure they've been told not to clean these encampments up. It's funny how they close these issues but nothing's be done, that's why I say that. Parks are not for camping. Oakland is not enforcing their own sit, lie law. Everyone who is tired of this should send a demand letter to the mayor for answers. My guess is she has none

Honestly, there's no sense in us fighting this anymore. The city has beat us into submission. We are left to paying our rent/mortgages to live in an area overrun by homeless and crime. The city of Oakland is a dump.

Nope, no quitting. Email your district leader and demand answers. I believe somehow a grand jury can force the city to do something or some kind of lawsuit. There was one against a city a few months ago and they have to comply. I'll find out what city it was

I've emailed Councilwoman McElhaney on the issue. Was told they're looking into a pilot program to see if there's a different way to deal with the homeless problem.... There is a fundamental misunderstanding of the problem. The people in this park believe it is their "Indigenous Land" and that they are leading a full blown occupation. I just don't know how the city of Oakland is comfortable being "invaded" by these people. They take over the land, take over the public structures by defacing every little thing with their stupid slogans. The city allows this to happen in the name of "social justice". We have to accept a new normal of substandard living. These people don't want to get jobs and improve their lives, so their only option is to bring us down and make the community feel like they're homeless too. It's tragic and there are no options left.

Ms. McElhaney should have stopped this a long time ago. The city needs to be sued for aiding and abetting illegal activity. The more you give these people the more they want. Of course they don't want to work, they want their dope and don't care . The city is scared of advocates who don't do squat for them anyway. The city does have a sit,lie law which is not being enforced. If this mayor has no clue than she needs to find someone who does. You can't help those who don't want help, but you can lay down the law and enforce it and quit acting like this does not exist
