Community Development will assign an inspector to check the property for violations of the grass and weed ordinance. This ordinance only requires the cutting of grass or weeds over 8 inches in height and consume an abundance of the yard. We cannot require the trimming of bushes, shrubs, bamboo, ornamentals, ivy or trees. Thank you for contacting us.
Community Development's Inspector checked the area and found no visible violations of the Grass and Weed ordinance. This ordinance only requires the cutting of grass or weeds over 8 inches in height and consume an abundance of the yard. The area in question is part of the landscape for the golf course. We cannot require the trimming of bushes, shrubs, ornamentals, ivy or trees. Thank you for contacting us.
The lots in question are not part of the golf course - they were purchased last year from John Hays for the purpose of commercial development. They were previously maintained by Mr. Hays - until last year when he sold the property.
We had the area in question re-checked and did determine that it is privately owned. Community Development will be notifying the owner(s) of several vacant lots that they are in violation of the City’s Grass and Weed Ordinance. Scheduled re-inspections of the properties will be made upon the final date of the each notice to insure compliance with this ordinance. Thank you for contacting us.
