Description

Please send someone out to address the drainage issue in the back alley in the 2800 block of 7th Avenue between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue. There is a major problem with water being displaced from 6th Avenue all the way to 7th Avenue. There used to be an actual ditch in the back alley which has gradually filled with topsoil from our yards to the point that it is now a crooked shallow indentation in the ground. The problem has been exacerbated by the church at the corner of 6th Avenue and 4th Street covering their open ground with gravel. Our topsoil has washed away to the point that the buried guide wire on the bottom of the fence is now exposed with gaps all over the place. We are asking the City to please dig the ditch back out. Extending the ditch to the west (behind 2808 and 2810 7th Avenue) would help. If the ditch is actually graded so that the western end is higher that the eastern end, then gravity will help the water drain to the storm water drain at its eastern end located on 3rd street. We are having major issues with mosquitoes because water stands in the shallow indentation due to the fact that it is impossible for it to drain. Anything you can do to address this issue would be greatly appreciated! Please call or email if needed…
