Description

Yellow barriers have been put up to keep people from making left turns out of Swedesford Road onto DeKalb Pike (202). The intent is understandable, because these turns can be dangerous when traffic is heavy, which is most of the time now that the 202 Bypass is open. But it is also understandable that people living in the area of Angelsea Estates want to make a quick left rather than drive all the way around. As soon as the barriers were installed, someone drove through them. Now, you see people going right and then making a dangerous U-turn at the end of the barriers. Someone has installed a homemade no U-turn sign. Laypeople taking control of a dangerous situation is not the answer. Traffic engineers will have to solve it. I hope the solution is not another light, but maybe it is. If so, maybe it can have a sensor so it is only activated when needed by people coming out of Swedesford Road.
