I live near here and via SCF also reported this overgrowth from the other end of the block. The empty lot 601? MacArthur at Wesley (adjacent to overgrown sidewalk weeds) needs to be trimmed as weeds are waist high and very dry. Thanks.
It is the responsibility of the fronting property owners to repair and maintain there sidewalks Section 12.04 of the Oakland municipal code. You can file a complaint with code enforcement or talk to the property owner. Likely neither will be of much help.
Looking at Goggle earth its hard to tell if this is a City easement on Wesley or the back yard for the house at 620 Hillgirt circle. I would push for the city easement and make the City prove otherwise. Its not abandoned it is just not maintained and badly needs to cleaned up. Do you know any good realtors they could figure it out.

It is my understanding that the owner is in Utah. They do not pay taxes or fines. The city of Oakland has stopped registering liens on the property because the want someone to buy it. They do not want it to be further encumbered.
So another double standard. The City of Oakland sent out notices that we the home owners have to repair and maintain our sidewalks if we do not they are going though and doing the work and will then bill us . If we do not pay the city will put a lien on our property. I have to repair my sidewalks and they do not. For 620 Wesley the city needs to sell it for the taxes and penalties owed.
