Description

2116 Maplewood Ave is falling apart. The awning over the porch could fall down at any minute. As this house is attached to another house, this a big safety concern. This house is continually reported on this site and each time city of Richmond says they are investigating but nothing happens. The house has reached a new low over the past few months as the porch awning threatens to fall more each day and the back of the house has openings where animals go inside. The backyard is dangerous because there is a deep pit where the entrance to the basement was that anyone could fall in. Windows are broken and boarded up and owner has left debris on porch including sharp pieces of rotted wood, siding, rusted nails, etc. I reiterate that this house is attached on the porch to another house and that the city ignores this is blatant disregard for the safety of residents and the well being of the neighborhood. This has gone on long enough. Who knows what's even going on inside the house that affects the houses in direct proximity? Vermin infestation? Radon gas? Decrepit piping and utilities? Structural damage? Water damage? Thanks City of Richmond, for so long ignoring a major issue in the Byrd Park neighborhood. It's time to fix this problem.
