We understand that our downtown residents are often impacted by the events taking place in our downtown parks. Large scale events such as Warped Tour (happening today) all typically use the same or very similar set up that you see today. In the interest of pedestrian safety, Bayshore is shut down to vehicular traffic from in front of the Vinoy north, and to include, 7th Avenue. The through street that leads to North Shore Pool is also closed to vehicular traffic. The dumpsters placed for today's concert will be removed by tomorrow morning. We are willing to take a look at dumpster placement to see if another viable location is available, however, the dumpsters do need to be located where they can be most easily placed and picked up. We certainly apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we do host many events in our downtown park.

We have no problem with the vehicle restrictions except that only noisy vehicles (mini noisy pickups, police, ambulances, beer semi trailer, trucks serving the event with backup beepers, the trucks that drop off and pick up the dumpsters, portolets and other items, etc.) are let through. We do have a problem with dumpsters being put in the greenareas and portolets being put outside the fences in that same green area. It is as if you are encouraging people to dump trash into them and to camp out in the green areas rather than go in to the concert. We have seen other configurations which allow the dumpsters to be places somewhere less ugly to the residents and the portolets are not outside the fenceline... and when inside put on the bayside or northside of the park rather than where there are residents. These are choices you have and we encourage you to consider different choices rather than create a backlash to the great events by residents in the area.

It also now appears that main entrance was moved to the center of Bayshore rather than the edges of the park causing attendees to cut across the green areas and through backyard and flower beds. There are three semi trailers parked on 5th Ave rather than offsite. There is a Ryder truck, and now canopies for some sort of booth set up on Bayshore. This in addition to some 6 portolets and several large trash cans set up outside the fence line. This has made it convenient for several groups people to set up folding chairs and picnic blankets outside the fence line particularly in shade. It is safe to say Bayshore is no longer outside the event but now a big part of it unlike other or prior events. Quite a change for downtown residents. Picture is of new entrance, portolets, parked vehicles.
