I live in a newer home edition in Buckner Missouri. The Storm Drain Runoff system from the adjacent neighbor hood runs thru my back yard which used to be a wooded area. Unfortunately, is has eroded my yard 8Ft. disposing trash and what ever else comes off the streets damaging my property. I have a problem with snakes and rodents as well. I have brought it to the City of Buckner’s attention since spring 2005. With all the distractions with Mayor Debbie Gilmore the Storm Drain problem was ignored. As of fall 2009 are new Mayor Larry Niedel and Public Works supervisor Jerry Shrout finally led us to believe that they were going to fix the Storm Drain Runoff - which the city has openly admitted is a Public Works problem. As of fall 2009 they had companies coming out to give them bids to fix the Storm Drain Runoff System. Since the City of Buckner residents did not pass the recent levy increase we were informed March 10, 2010 by Mayor Neidel that the City is broke and he knows the Storm Drain is a problem and he is not going to fix it. Mayor Niedel commented that if we wanted to buy the pipe the City of Buckner would put it in. I pay taxes and they want me to buy the pipe to fix their problem. Plus, the City of Buckner just settled a large sexual harassment case with the Police Dept no wonder their broke! I need help!
