Description

Does a private citizen have the right to install no parking signs in front of an uncut sidewalk. 99 Willow street yard on Cottage street side. Watched him install signs stating TOW ZONE. Isn't this something that the Department of Public Works would do not a private citizen?

Parking is difficult enough in this area. Now he is taking away at least one large parking space. His building at 99 Willow has a pretty good size parking lot both out front and in the back.😠

Yeah, the lack of a curb cut there is making this seem suspicious (to me). Not sure who to assign this to, but in the meantime, an inspector will visit the site tomorrow to see what's what.

He cannot do this with the current sidewalk configuration. I hope no one gets wrongfully towed! Call your local councilor asap!

Not according to the DPW director. There is no curb cut.

Inspectional Services met with the property and explained that just because there is a gate does not mean it is a legal driveway without a curb cut. Therefore, his Tow Zone sign is irrelevant at this point and he cannot have cars towed or ticketed.
