Description

I would love to send a picture. There are piles of dried dead large oaks lying in piles along the paths. The forest canopy has been extremely compromised because of several years of gypsy moth caterpillar defoliations. The floor of the woods are drying out because there is no protection from the hot sun. This is fuel for a very large fire.

Q. Please provide a detailed description of the issue:
A. The Locust Valley woods are very dry. There are many dead and dying trees from several years of defoliation. I'm concerned there is a fire danger. Off-road motorcycles/ATVs ride in the woods frequently. A spark could cause an inferno. Also, fireworks and campfires (partying kids) can cause a fire too. The woods are extremely dry and stressed. Please warn people of the danger. Thank you!
