What is the problem? Please state what the issue is. By the way you should only call 911 when it is a true emergency or a crime is being committed. Calling 911 for any other reason ties up emergency response personnel who may be needed for a true emergency. In fact calling for non emergencies can result in fines and possibly arrest.
I said it CAN result in fines and POSSIBLY arrest. And while it is concerning that no one answered the phone at NHPD, call the State Police non emergency number to let them kniw. Unless it is an actual life or death emergency, or a crime in progress, then well, you would call 911. The State Police outline when it is and is not appropriate to call 911 on their website. They had to, because when people tie up the lines with non emergency calls like noise violations, etc then people who are bleeding from a stab wound get a busy signal. It was such an issue a few years ago that Governor Rell had to make radio and tv announcements about it.
If NHPD phone is not working and it is after hours and I can't call the mayor;s office whose phone number is 203 946-8200 I will call 911 because if there is a problem with the police phone line this is serious. By the way I just called the state police and I was told this is fine.
