Description
1/2 mile Dumping Ground on Fairland between Campbell and Country Club. This strip of road between the oleanders and Union Pacific's rail line needs a full time crew to pick up the illegal dumping that occurs daily from auto tires, dead animals dumped in trash bags, couches, recliners, landscaping debris/trees/shrubs and general household trash/waste. This strip is also a favorite for an occasional stolen vehicle abandonement not to mention speeding vehicles on poor road conditions. Does the City care about areas like this? How about having TPD hanging out back there when they have paper work to do to discourage such illegal behavior? A little radar and some undercover work would go a long way to help clean this area up and improve the quality of life for those who live, work, or simply travel this route.

Trash continues to pile up; several couches, scrap wood, and general household waste currently line the street.

I encourage you to contact City of Tucson Transportation, Streets & Traffic Maintenance directly, at 791-3154 for any continuing reports regarding this area. My understanding is that the area has been cleaned up at least once in the past month, so this is indeed a recurring issue and needs to be re-reported when it recurs.
Tucson Clean & Beautiful can also help coordinate a community volunteer cleanup if area residents and businesses are interested in assisting with this matter. Call 791-3109 for more information.

Why are you re-opening this issue? Due to my comments 22 hours ago of how trash is strewn about for over 1/2 mile and continues to sit there for weeks at a time. TPD also has to be routinely called for traffic hazards when people dump things in the middle of this street, especially at night with there being no street lights.
