Description

Since the end of summer through Fall I've noticed a bunch of wires danging from the top of a telephone pole that lead all the way down to the ground onto the sidewalk. I don't think the wires are live but you can clearly see some of the actual metal wire exposed on some of them. Also there is a lot of it on the ground that can easily cause a tripping hazard or if lightning ever hits that pole it would conduct down the wire and possibly strike a pedestrian or passing car. This is located behind Walgreens (the one located on Oak Street). The down wires are on York St. close to Broadway. I've attached a pic. Even if this seems harmless it could have potential for problems. For example kids passing by at night might be tempted to yank on them or it might get caught up in the tires of a bicycle. or motorbike passing by. I didn't report it before because it looked like something a city worker would be coming back to fix but it is clear that they are not since it's been like that for months. I seldom pass down that area but when I saw it the other day I felt I had to report it. Also since the wire comes from all the way from the top of the telephone pole down I'm also worried that in the dark that someone on a bicycle or motorbike might get strangled by the wire if the wind ever blows it into the street. In the dark they wouldn't see it if it does get blown into the road.
