Are you referring to the exit ramp/MLK Blvd leading up to Church St? You mentioned the Oak St Connector but it looks like the pic was taken from the exit ramp. There is a speed limit sign there, although it got cut from the pic.

@ XYZ: so you are aware, any non-emergency related repairs that occur on state maintained roads should be directed to the CT DOT District 3 office. You can find the appropriate number to call (bottom of page) thru this link:

I called (203) 389-3010 which was in the link supplied by the Department Of Transportation in a previous post and got a message that said," hi this is Paul please leave your name and number and I will call you back as soon as I can". I then call again and was informed that they are open from 7-4 and when I called they were out to lunch. In the future if I see a problem on a state road I will continue to call the state police.

Try this number instead for state maintained signs for New Haven: 203-407-0522. I'd hold off on calling the state police XYZ, as they would just re-direct the info provided to the correct state dept

I called 203-407-0522 and was informed they are only open from 8-4. I doubt if they are open on the weekends. This is why I call the state police and inform others to do the same.

I was trying to be helpful too. Think about isn't better to have people call a number where someone is available 24 hours a day instead of eight

This service road is maintained by the city, therefore, The Traffic Sign Division will do the repair. Thanks for posting this issue.

well,, phoned in to whom? Not to the State Police.. Apparently the road is City responsibility. I was thinking it was probably the City.. haha I don't think the State would be as likely to put it upside down.
There are advantages to posting things like this here.. as long as a call is also made. A call often just gets lost.. This is in writing.

For the record, from what I could see I don't think the sign was installed upside down; I think the top bolt just came loose and the sign swung that way by force of gravity.

As for its location, it is attached to a lamppost on the below-grade portion of the former connector. I am not sure what it is actually called at this point, since I suppose the real Rt 34 is now the surface road (formerly North Frontage). I guess it is now just an access road to 100 College St? I can understand how this is jurisdictionally confusing.
