This is the second time i have reported this. Last year it was not cut so much as crushed down. We homeowners cannot maintain this property without it being cut properly to begin with. I myself as a 47 woman worked to try and rake and clean up last year to no avail. This empty lot needs to be completely cleared and not just rolled over.
Community Development will assign an inspector to check the property for violations of the grass and weed ordinance. This ordinance only requires the cutting of grass or weeds over 8 inches in height and consume an abundance of the yard. We cannot require the trimming of bushes, shrubs, bamboo, ornamentals, ivy or trees. Thank you for contacting us
The property violations keep ongoing every year. The grass & weeds are already 12 to 16 inches high. The home owners in the sub devision must always complain every year!!!
The property we believe belongs to the city
( we could be wrong ) it's the area all built up around the Sub Station there. What must be done to keep this from happening every year?
Community Development’s Inspector has checked this property and has notified the owner(s) / occupant(s) that they are in violation of the City's Grass and Weed Ordinance. A scheduled re-inspection of the property will be made upon the final date of the notice to insure compliance with this ordinance. Thank you for contacting us.
I noticed today (6-6-16) , the same thing stated this year by the Developments inspector was stated last year! I would like to know how to prevent this from going on and on every year. If not - put this property down now for a cutting next year and the year after . THANKS!?
I have researched this property and owner and they are bankrupt and have been. Edwards Specialties Inc. You can try and notify all you want but there is no one present. Phones are disconnected and if i was a betting woman and i am, i would bet they really dont care for a notice. The runaround every year is ridiculous.
Huntsville Community Development : you closed this issue last year the same way!!!
More people are going to get involved from the Sub Division as this is a reacurance every year. We are wondering who you get in contact with ; this has actually been going on for SEVEN (7) years now!!!!!!!
WE TELL YOU, YOU CUT IT, WE TELL YOU, YOU CUT IT and it keeps on going and going and going; year after year.

What is the final date of notice on this case? I am also interested in who you gave a notice to as i have researched owner on record and cant find anything or anyone present.
Ah... I forgot. There's a secondary issue here, that citizens have to repeatedly report this lot for cutting.
Is there some way to KEEP this lot maintained?? christal padgett says the lot owners are bankrupt and have been for years. Who is being charged for the city cutting the lot this time? Is there a way to make them keep it cut?
Christal, Chuck, Lora: Thank you for reaching out to us. The person being cited is the last known assessor of the property. It is the city's policy to issue a 14 day courtesy notice each and every time they are in violation of this ordinance. If the violation is not corrected within that time, a citation may be issued for the responsible party to appear in Municipal Court AND/OR the city may cut the grass and weeds and bill the owner for the costs incurred. We appreciate your frustration however; Community Development has a legal process that is implemented. If any of you would like to discuss the process further please call Community Development directly at 256-427-5400.
