City staff responded to this report at 11:50 am. No odor was detected at this location. Staff spoke with a person near this address. The person indicated the landfill smells generally about 12 times per year at this nearby location, usually when the winds are out of the east. He indicated that he had not smelled the landfill recently. Staff did detect a landfill odor at the entrance to the landfill at 11:50 am. When staff drove back by the landfill at 12:10 the odor had subsided. Staff will continue to investigate odor complaints and will work with Deffenbaugh to address issues in residential areas; however, some landfill odor is expected at the entrance to the landfill.
