Maybe the City can also confirm that its tree-trimming standard is to try to get a clear 8' above the sidewalk and 18' above the street. (This is a near-universal standard and I'm pretty sure Medford arborists/tree crews implement this, except for new/young trees that they let grow taller before trimming them up)

Medford's Tree Warden, Aggie Tuden, is always very responsive via email and usually checks out the trees herself. http://www.medfordma.org/departments/department-of-public-works/dpw-links/forestry-division/ At least in Google Streetview from Summer 2014, there do look to be some pear trees with low branches between 30 and 50 Morton Ave: https://goo.gl/maps/88CkvqY4bk12 If those low branches are still there, it'd really help to trim them up.

Thank-you for your messages. The tree at 48 Morton Ave has been inspected and added to the pruning list. Low branches will be pruned over the sidewalk, and branches growing over the walkway and front yard that are also too low will be removed.
