Thanks for the post - however, I think this is a good sign rather than a bad one - see below for an email sent by FERP this weekend. (note included a pic of this couch)

Today, Kevin McCarthy and I were joined by New Haven Academy senior Khiry Oliver and three of his friends, LeAndre Mewborn, Virgil Harrell III, and Alex Andino. Khiry had contacted me to set up this community service event for a class he is taking at NHA. Together, we made a loop over to Rice Field and filled a half dozen bags of trash from the roadway, the trail, and the dugouts. On the way back the six of us hauled a sofa bed down the trail so it can be picked up on Orange Street. I'm quite sure East Rock Park is not the proper disposal spot for a sofa bed. Apparently, not all city residents share that opinion!

Many thanks to all of these young stewards. They made a difference and helped New Haven Get a Grip On Trash! Many thanks also to both Roger and Kevin.
