Description

I use this intersection as a pedestrian. Few (if any) southbound cars turning right into Bryant come to a stop before turning when the light on 1st St NW. The presence of pedestrians in the crosswalk does not appear to give them pause, and the roadblocks in the northbound lane can obscure drivers' view of pedestrians already in the crosswalk. Ideally, a traffic camera or a "no turn on red" sign might help mitigate the issue; because the unit block of Bryant St NW is one-way eastbound, southbound cars turning right against the light have no strong incentive to heed the light and stop before turning.
