Description
Numerous times over the last few weeks, including last night, I have either been a pedestrian or observed a pedestrian attempt to cross Center Street in the crosswalk near Fair Street / Center Street Wine only to have to wait for cars to pass by because they will not stop and yield to the pedestrian. Drivers simply will not yield to the pedestrian, even if they have made it obvious that they are in the crosswalk with the intent of crossing the street. It is honestly an accident waiting to happen if the pedestrian is not overly cautious. I believe a sign facing both directions in the middle of the street reminding drivers that they need to stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk may be appropriate.
