I live half a mile away from the academy, so I wouldn't expect this to affect me so much. However, I'm always surprised how far the sound carries during the day and especially in the evening. Last night the gunshots sounded like they were right next door and they persisted much longer into the night than normal, which was upsetting to me and my family.

I called 911 to report the noise issue and was told that there was training going on and there was nothing they could do about it. Then I called the Desk Sargent and was told there was nothing he could do about it either but there had been at least 50 phone calls from other people about the issue that night.

Do any of the Alderpersons from Beaver Hills come onto this site? I think there needs to be some kind of conversation about this. Weapons training should not be taking place in a residential area until 9:30PM.
