Description

Over the past 4-5 months we have experienced a huge increase in automobile/truck/ motorcycle traffic volume on Central between Webster and 4th Streets

We need immediate traffic calming measures here including a lighted "Your speed is" and 25MPH clearly illuminated (in both directions)

I am requesting that immediate Data collection on the level of traffic, # of cars, the speed / velocity of these vehicles (trucks motorcyles, SUVs etc) needs to take place.

I used to wake up to the sound of birds chirping and the breeze on trees. Now I wake up at 5am to what sounds like a freeway outside. The traffic sounds do not stop most of the day, but increase to high levels again at 5pm until 10pm at night. They sometimes begin at 4am PST.

Details:
The traffic volume is high and getting higher
The few(2) posted signs that indicate 25 mile per hour speed limit are routinely disregarded by drivers, at all times of day - in both directions
Our crosswalks at both 6th and 5th are disregarded by drivers regularly. We have been told by ViPatel that we will be receiving an RRFB at crosswalk at 6th before June 30th fiscal year closes.
There is a school crossing near Paden elementary, even though a crossing guard is working, drivers routinely fly through the designated cross walk -- in both directions!
We have a high amount of General Contractor 4x4 pickups (and LARGER trucks carrying materials to the base and Alameda Landing)that us this as a thoroughfare.
We have high volume of Drivers coming in and out of Crab Cove using McKay. There is no stop sign or even a yield sign as they exit onto Central. I would like the name of the EB Parks official who is in charge of keeping that street in a state of repair and lighting it properly
Are these trucks even allowed to be on this type of Avenue carrying this type of load and emitting this level of noise pollution
My hope is that we can find a way for you to IMPLEMENT several calming measures, and that those actions be taken IMMEDIATELY.
