The City Forester will make a site visit and investigate this tree for safety and determine if pruning or any other actions are merited. Please note that National Grid contractors, not the city, per OSHA do all trimming for power line clearance. Common birch pests such as bronze birch borer and birch leaf miner do not share a host with sycamore maple so transmission of a pest or disease is not a threat.

Will the city contact national grid regarding this tree?

National Grid has just begun a cycle trimming all trees citywide from their wires to be completed this year but I will pass it on to the Utility Arborist

The City Forester has inspected the tree and determined it does not need further trimming at this time. Request to trim service wires may be directed to National Grid
