Description
Someone that lives at 10401 Menaul often drives over the sidewalk at the northeast corner of the intersection that separates the Menaul frontage road from Menaul and Morris. This is extremely dangerous, and this person is running a high risk of running over a pedestrian or causing a major accident. Can the city install something to block a car from doing this without blocking people on foot or in a wheelchair? Maybe a concrete pillar like those that block cars from traveling on the multi-use trails. In addition, this house also discarded junk piling up in their front yard.

You'll never get the city to spend money on something like that at a location like that for a reason like that....unless something bad happens. BUT....what does need to happen is pressure needs to be put on the reckless individuals who live there and are doing it. FIRST...get zoning on the trash out front. First contact, first pressure. THEN...after they clean up the garbage but continue to drive over the curb, you will have to have some sort of proof, like video, if you want to even think about trying to get APD to do something about it. And even at that, good luck trying.
THEN when they put more garbage out on the curb, do not hesitate to call zoning again. Eventually, they will shape up OR more likely move (assuming they are renters)...hopefully not to my neighborhood but someplace more ghetto than Albuquerque, if it exists.
Thanks for posting this concern. These are the kinds of things more people need to post and complain about and wake the city up as to nipping these little things in the butt because the lack of concern for these "minor" issues by residents is reflected in the city government, regulations, and enforcement (or lack there of to be more accurate) as well as the general population. It' people who behave like this and/or tolerate that which shouldn't be who invite and propagate more of the same and progressively worse. There is no homeostasis under these conditions. It can only either get better or worse.

Thank you for your feedback. The original case was closed by Zoning and Code Enforcement because they determined the junk was outdoor furniture, barbeque grill and toys, which are allowed. A new case #10768168 has been opened for the shopping carts.
