Description

Usually resurfacing of major roads is done quickly by milling a section of asphalt, then immediately putting down the new layer with a caravan of trucks containing the new asphalt. Resurfacing of Chain Bridge Road is taking an unusually long time. One lane of the old surface has been milled for more than a week. The rough surface is grinding up tires, throwing up rocks and chipping and rattling cars apart. Electronic signs indicated that the paving would be done on October 15, but that was five weeks from the start.

Why has the surface been milled when no new asphalt is ready to be laid down? Is this some kind of election campaign voter harassment? There should be an investigation.

Please do not mill any more of the road until new asphalt is ready to be laid down immediately during overnight hours.
