Description
At this address, there is often a car parked directly in front of the house. Because the house is the corner lot, at the intersection of Lawrence Road eastbound, and Governor's Ave southbound, a vehicle in front of the house interferes with travel through that intersection, onto the southbound side of Governor's. For example, when making a right-hand turn onto Governor's from Lawrence, the car is exactly in front of you when you turn. So, if you see it, you have to swing wide to the left to go around it, or, if you don't see it, risk colliding with it.
The same problem exists when entering the southbound side of Governor's Ave from any direction. Turning left from Lawrence, or making a U-turn on Governor's (a turn I have to make every single day in order to head south from my street, which is the last one off of the northbound side of Gov's before Lawrence), you have to squeeze left to avoid hitting the vehicle.
The problem is exacerbated due to the broken up pavement and potholes directly in front of 142 Governor's. In order to avoid a collision, you must either drive over the potholes, or cut close to the curb on the left, or dangerously close to the vehicle on the right. Most such intersections prohibit parking within a certain number of feet of the intersection. Unfortunately, there is no sign prohibiting parking at this location.
I'd like to ask the city to post and enforce "NO PARKING" alongside the curb in front of 142 Governor's. Your prompt attention to this issue is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
