Description

There is a crosswalk painted on the road here. Well. Once there was. It has not been repainted in many years and is 75% faded.

There also used to be signs on the street that alerted traffic to this crosswalk and instructions to stop for pedestrians crossing the street.

This crosswalk provides access to a great walking/running/biking trail. This trail is actually well maintained and a great place to walk with friends and pets. However. Crossing the street is dangerous. Driver approaching can't see the faded crosswalk paint on the road and the crosswalk signs are gone (maybe after Hurricane Irene? I don't remember when they disappeared.) So they simply don't even think about stopping. There are a few cars who remember that this is actually a crosswalk, and remember the driving laws about stopping for pedestrians using crosswalks. But. The majority of drivers fly by here while people are waiting to cross. It is only a matter of time before a tragic accident occurs.

Please fix this. The road needs to be repainted, and proper signage needs to go back up.
