I've made a point of being extremely patient and understanding regarding this issue, but this is now going beyond the pale. My trash was last picked up on Friday April 1st. Today is the 19th. All of our neighbors had theirs picked up. I (very politely) called DPW on Friday 15th and informed them of the problem. Was told by the very nice gentleman that he would report it and have someone pick up on Monday. Monday, it's still there. Called DPW back and gentleman told me he would call the supervisor and have it picked up. Today, and it's still there. Called DPW again (this is getting repetitive), informed them that no one had been here, and was told that he would call the supervisor. Again. Really? I was told that this office, with the only publicly accessible phone number, only notifies a supervisor of a problem. OK, I get that. So, why isn't the system working?? I'm at the end of my rope, and I'm wondering if my next call should be to the Health Department. Temps in the 70's and trash sitting out for 3/4 of a month can't be a good thing. SeeClickFix is a great tool, I love it. But it's only effective if those cities using it actually respond to an issue, and not just "acknowledge" it.
No pickup today either. Why am I not surprised? Apparently DPW just intends on not fixing their error and waiting until their next scheduled pickup day. Meanwhile I have three weeks trash sitting at my curb and have resorted to putting further bagged trash into other containers, as there is no room in the intended container. Hmmm...maybe if we paid for this service we would get better results. Oh, wait, yeah I pay about 5K in property taxes for these services. And that's probably at the lower end of the scale from other folks. So here I sit, without a trash pickup since April 1st. And no response from the City except for "I'll notify the supervisor" and "acknowledged"...
