That is the normal police number.

I was walking across town yesterday, to a church event, and saw 3 or 4 bikes going the wrong way on,, I forget whether that was York or High, or Park.. but they definitel were taking up a whole lane going the wrong way.

Iit is the normal number andI think you have a better chance on getting something done using it.

Following is an email I which I sent to "kjacobsen," who I'm assuming is the person interviewed in the November article.

I'm trying to make sense of the morass of bureaucracy regarding the many ATV violations and why little seems to be done by the City of New Haven. On Sunday, ATVs seemed to be everywhere, snarling traffic and violating the law.

On the website "See, Click, Fix" there were a number of complaints. No police presence anywhere that I could see.

I did some googling and found this article from last November: "Top Intel Cop Promises ATV Crackdown" [link in original post] Callers to an "ATV Tip Line" 203-946-6298 provided in the article are now told pointedly that it is NOT an ATV tip line.

I also tweeted Doug Hausladen, who I assumed, wrongly it seems, that a Director of Transportation would have some influence on the control of ATVs, which are, after all, a means of transportation. I was apparently misinformed.

I then contacted my Alder, Aaron Greenberg, who contacted Sgt. Roy Davis, the Downtown District Manager on my behalf. Thus we learned that Sgt.Davis is on vacation and that I should contact you.

Assuming you are the "kjacobson" interviewed in the New Haven Independent article, I guess we've come full circle. ATV's are now swarming the city, negatively impacting the quality of life. Can anything be done, or do we have to wait until an innocent driver, bicyclist, or pedestrian is killed?
