East Rock is supposed to get at least 48 hours notice for street cleaning, but on 9/20/12 the city towed dozens of cars because there clearly was not adequate notice given.

This issue is a continuous challenge because of the lack of a regular schedule. The city feels that it's important to have the flexibility (because of rain and limited resources) to change the days of the month when street sweeping occurs. I think it's more important and fair to keep a regular schedule and, when they need to deviate from that schedule, to post temporary paper signs. Nevertheless, I'll continue to email residents like I did this time to let them know about the sweeping beforehand. If you want to get on my email list email me at justin.elicker@gmail.com.
