Oh, and strictly enforce the 25 mph speed limit. I don't live on the street, but the residents on Elm are putting up with more than enough as it is. Enforcing the speed limit will be guaranteed income for the town.

Speed limit is occasionally enforced, but the "No Left Turn 7-9 AM Mon-Fri" from Elm onto Columbia is still ignored by many drivers, including residents from Florham Park, Madison, Chatham, etc. The other day I had 3 drivers in front of me at 8:40 AM all making illegal left turns. And there are still car and truck drivers making illegal right turns from Columbia onto Elm. They ALL need to ticketed before the wink-wink practice is finally stopped. Mayor and Council of Florham Park, heed this call for seriious action instead of ignoring the problem with a band-aid approach. How about youtube videos of license plates and drivers as they make the illegal turns, offered to local police and the papers.

There is noticeably more traffic between Col Tpk and Ridgedale, for commuting, short-cuts, recycling day (Saturday), and sports events at Emmett Fields. With Elm Fields nearing completion next year, it will be critical to add a safe left-hand turning lane from Col Tpk onto Elm (going west on Col Tpk) and enforce no right-hand turn onto Elm (going east). More flagrant violations occurring, including speeding, will only lead to trouble. Morris County and Florham Park, please get this done before serious injury (or worse) occurs.

Please modify the right hand turn from Elm onto Col Tpk with a partial turn that orients the car closer to Col Tpk fast traffic. This will make it easier for motorists to enter Col Tpk (from a full Stop sign, of course, not a Yield). Almost ALL the drivers can't figure out the perpendicular turn and come out too far into the left-hand lane. Accidents, injuries and fatalities are getting higher probability as more traffic goes through, especially with the new fields completed next year.
Also, what ever happended to the Cali entrance from the rear of the new Elm Fields? No further mention of lawsuit status from the town on getting this done. Was this a scam by FP to appease residents when nothing will actually happen?

Suggest several options to improve the Elm/Col Tpk intersection, in additions to the ones above:
(1) ask adjacent tennis court owners if town (or county) can be granted easement of the grass strip outside their property to serve as a new entrance ramp onto eastbound Col Tpk, which would eliminate dangerous right hand turns from Elm onto Col Tpk by trucks and inexperienced drivers;
(2) place 24/7 yellow/red flashing light on Col Tpk to indicate exiting/entering drivers from Elm St;
(3) place speed bump and/or speed strips on northbound Elm St lane about 50 ft before Col Tpk to slow drivers even more;
(4) paint FULL STOP strip on Elm and improve visibility to Col Tpk by clearing brush regularly.

MANY drivers are making illegal right hand turns from Col Tpk onto Elm St to go to Elm Fields for practice or games, or easy cut thru to Madison. This includes a certain retired Florham Park police officer and popular football coach who did this without hesitation even though witnessed by other drivers waiting at Elm stop sign. Although there is better enforcement by FP police along Elm for speeding, the situation still needs improvement.

Status quo for FP and Morris County, not taking action for a decade to improve this dangerous intersection. Drivers continue to violate NO LEFT TURN and NO RIGHT TURN signs.
