There is a 3 way stop sign on the intersection of 40th St and Howe St, however there is only a crosswalk across 40th st, not across Howe st. Why not? There is a 4 way crosswalk (with 2 way stop sign) on the intersection of 40th Str Way and Howe, but it is poorly lit at night and many cars speed up through it (on Howe st) since they have just stopped at a stop sign either on 41st st or 40th st. The existing crosswalk is unsafe and does not make much sense. It would've been a lot better if there was a crosswalk on Howe and 40th St, where there are stop signs in all directions, and it would provide a much easier access to Piedmont ave for people coming from Broadway direction.
