Interesting, The Philadelphia Parking Authority has established new parking zones to accommodate motorcycles and scooters. http://philapark.org/motorcycles-scooters/ (Great to see scooters being used in urban areas.)
Right now our current rules technically don't even allow bicycles to park on the sidewalk (the language refers to "vehicles" which includes bicycles). A committee of the Bicycle - Pedestrian Advisory Commission is currently reviewing suggested changes in this language. The committee plans to hold one more meeting to formalize their recommendations before presenting to the entire BPAC and ultimately City Council.
