Description

I am requesting as a Mother, Briarmeadow Resident and member of the HOA Board of Directors for Briarmeadow Subdivision that the City of Houston increase the red light times at the intersection of Richmond Ave & Stoney Brook Dr so residents & pedestrians can cross the entire street safely.

also asked...
Q. What is your area of concern?
A. Pedestrian Signal - Traffic Signals.
Q. Why is this a concern?
A. Our large neighborhood (684 homes), BRIARMEADOW, is divided by a major thorough fare (6 lanes) - Richmond Ave - just 2.5 miles west of the Galleria in the heart of Houston. It is next to impossible for a pedestrian, never mind family with children, to cross Richmond Ave at a stoplight with crosswalk in the time allotted on Stoney Brook Dr to access a City Park and neighborhood pool. Safe walking times are diminished by speeding cars on Richmond Ave that frequently run red lights. Often times pedestrians are stranded on the median waiting to cross safely.
Q. Problem occurs at what time of day?
A. 9am-4pm
Q. What direction were you traveling?
A. South
