Pole replacement works differently than light outages. To get a bulb changed requires that a pole number be called to Siemens (on Arlington town poles) or NStar (on DCR poles in Arlington).
Once the pole is utterly gone, as in this case, there isn't a pole number and it isn't the Utility's job:
The pole itself is a joint town/DCR thing as far as I can tell, and Arlington has a special set of programs, like doing LEDs and bumping NStar in favor of Siemens as its light maintainer.
The role of towns in specifying poles seems why Winchester has closely spaced decorative metal poles on the MVP that stop at the Medford line, where Medford's far spaced wooden poles start)
I am hoping we get an Arlington Town official, but if even they say "It's all DCR" then they'd be right in closing this an I would not reopen here.
DCR Community Relations has called me to say they're aware the whole pole is missing, but other than that, no update.
As a top aide to a local State Rep/Sen put it, the DCR's Community Relations people are overworked and have little pull. It takes the involvement of the Legislative Liaison office, whose job is to keep Reps/Sens happy, to get real results.
