Description
I know traffic mitigation is a complicated matter, but I find issue with the light timing on 4th St. Given that this is a major North-South thoroughfare, one has to wonder why in the world when you maintain speeds consistent with the posted speed limit, you end up approaching every single light precisely as it turns red. Why bring hundreds of cars repeatedly to a halt at each and every light a dozen times in half as many miles? It doesn't make any sense economically or environmentally, unless of course somehow the fuel-selling lobby is involved.
Not only is this a major inconvenience adding many minutes to one's rush hour commute, but it's also an egregious and wholly unnecessary contributor to wasted fuel and emissions.
