Unfortunately, with all the distracted drivers on the roads, it is dangerous to be a pedestrian: a couple summers ago, I was hit by a car turning right on Riverside Ave from the Fellsway (when I had the light) and landed on the hood of the car; luckily, I only had a broken toe but it was terrifying snd I could have easily been killed if the driver had been going faster.
I try to get the driver's attention when I'm crossing as I don't want to be hit again!
