Description
There is to the left of Seaview Avenue going toward Easton Bay a graveled road, labeled for many years as "private way" that I was told at the maps room of the City of Newport RI Hall that it is a public road that serves a cottage of the # 2 Seaview Avenue Cliffside Inn, # 10 Seaview Avenue, my home and a new home being build since 9 2014. Because the City, does no signal, repair or clear of snow this graveled road, the abutters of it do it.
Recently the Town repaved fully Seaview Avenue and an elbow of pavement was build up to bridge over a large gap at the entrance of the graveled road to allow safe passage of light vehicles entering and exiting the graveled road.
Some time after the paving of Seaview Ave, the prolongation of the pavement was found broken in several fragments and runoff water coming down Seaview avenue that has a pronounced inclination towards Easton Bay started to erode the gravel and the soul below and actually there is a significant pothole, not only in the road, but also a profound ditch adjacent to it.

The fragmentation of the asphalt extension had increased by close to 40% as of April 6 2016; Agree that around the fragmentation of the asphalt there is water erosion due to rainstorms. Out of desesperation, we abuters, layered a bed of large pieces of granite and covered them with gravel, to form a bridge over the gap left that was significant. Our vehicles are suffering damage in the underside structures. A temporary bandAid while a solution is agreed by the City authorities, to whom we are grateful for the interest that shows well and the research being done.
Thanks,
