The contractors have been informed that they must return to permanently fix trench.

Were the Belgian blocks saved?? The originals should be put back anytime there is an excavation done as newer ones do not match.

@ City Engineer. Again I am asking if the original Belgian Blocks that were taken up were saved? There is NO reason not to save the originals and replace them when the work is completed. There are many areas on Thames where work was done and the blocks were not saved and non-matching blocks put back. This is a MAJOR historic attraction in our city and it's slowly being ruined. This question was asked here over a month ago and would appreciate some answers. Thank you.

City contractors should be reviewed and graded, and their work inspected for neglect like this. I have seen our streets left in deplorable condition after work completed. The Belgian block issue really is outrageous.

City engineer? Where is the accountability?

I am NOT getting an answer to the questions being asked about after several months of waiting. Do I need to ask my councilman or mayor to get an answer?

National Grid is completing the final repair of the Belgian block areas.

National Grid has replaced the Belgian blocks on Thames Street.
