So, I've heard that a bike pump is available at all times at PSD. But every time I try to use what they have - a flimsy manual one - it's broken and they always send me to the bus garage where I can never get access.
Why don't we make RI more bike friendly? Why can't we install good ones - perhaps at the visitors center, another one at the lighthouse an another one at the gardens?

You're right about having more bike pumps around the Island. Maybe at the Tram and the subway location, as well as one at Lighthouse Park. I'm not sure what is required to have them available, but perhaps you should sign up to speak at a RIOC Board meeting and make that suggestion. Also, you need to try to come to the RIOC Board Operations Committee meeting when it is next in session to talk to the Board members about installing these pumps.

The PSD is sympathetic to Bike Riders on Roosevelt Island, and has two bike pumps, which are both in working order. Please understand that our Bus Garage is not a designated area for anyone to receive service for their bicycles.
