For eight years, my neighborhood has been plagued by disgusting amounts of dog waste, unlicensed, off-leash dogs, and constant trash dumping. It's like a third-world country here, with no code enforcement, no public trash cans, no police presence...it's truly like the wild, wild West (side). Absolute, abject filth with no concern for health, civility, or improvement. Additionally, the streets are dark from insufficient, dim lights, which further encourages the criminal element. We need help. There are so many little changes that would make all the difference. A beat cop. City garbage collection. Weekly code enforcement and animal control officer visits. I've talked to the Westchester BOH, the Yonkers PD, Code Enforcement, the Mayor's Office...every office shunts the responsibility to another government entity. Eight years of reports, complaints, emails, phone calls...and nothing. Never any response. We pay taxes, too. This is unacceptable in this day and age. Please advise.
