Description
My daughter attends Design Tech High School at 1800 Rollins Road and when I drop her off at the school parking lot, It is impossible and very dangerous to make a left turn traveling southbound on Rollins Road When there is an 18 wheeler parked in front of the See's Candy Manufacturing plant at 1760 Rollins Road. There is a current signage that is barely visible which states "PARKING 16' MAX ONLY" on a pole which is anchored on the front lawn of the See's Candies. Three hundred kids attend this school and hundreds of cars per day are traveling in and out of the parking lot. Please Relocate the signage to the sidewalk and add 1 more signage several feet away. This is a very important matter and should be a priority. Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks John for bringing up. Those large Bekins tractor trailer trucks are giant walls that block visibility. Also happens at the entrance to Nothing But Hoops at 1881 Rollins, though that one is not signed like See's.
Maybe the City can put in a 'pilot Stop sign' here the same way they'll be putting one in at Rollins/North Carolan.

Hi John, Agree with you that it's very difficult to exit out of the dTech driveway, as well as all the other driveways on that side of Rollins. That includes Burlingamer, Prime Time Athletic, SkyHigh Sports, Tesla and the SPCA. A big part of this is that the traffic lanes are shifted way to that side of Rollins. You can barely edge out of the driveways and see oncoming traffic, because the lane is right there. It wasn't always this way. In 2013, the City put in the bike lane on the opposite side of the street, in the southbound direction. If you look closely on the street, you can see where the lane lines used to be - you can see the old lane line scars.
Pointed this out then and was told that 'curb painting was not part of the project' but 'would be looked at'. I hope the City adds the red zone at dTech as you described as soon as possible and also looks out for the rest of the driveways there. Now you know the rest of the story.
