Description
17/19 Eld St is suffering from an absentee landlord. Not only is the building in poor esthetic condition (needs to be painted badly), it also has several broken windows on the third level and there are clearly pigeons living in that area (and likely other critters, too). The lower two levels are rented and I do not think the third level is living space, but it cannot be good for this area to be exposed to the elements and animals in the way that it is. In addition, a very cheap fix was applied to the roof when sections of it tumbled down in the hurricane and snow storm earlier this year. I think the owner/managers of this building should be ashamed of the appearance and potential safety issues of leaving their building in this condition.

Would love to have LCI take a look at the house. (Or the garbage cans that are left for days after pickup). This house is a particular blight given that everyone else is trying to make improvements to their home on the street.

LCI has issued a Warning for trash can violations. We will follow up with the owner about the blight.

Thank you, LCI. I would be very interested in reading followup on the blight response from the owner. Thank you for the important community work that you do.
