Q. Please describe in detail the issue.
A. Truck deliveries on Smith St. in the mornings. This is the third time in less than two weeks I have almost been in an accident because of delivery trucks stopping on Smith St. to make bulk deliveries. Specifically, between Dallas and Clay. There are two turning lanes on Smith St. allowing turning to the left onto Dallas and Clay to handle the volume of traffic. However, if one of those lanes is blocked by a parked truck traffic cannot flow the way the roads were designed. When traffic does not move in a coordinated fashion, accidents happen. There is a reason street parking is not allowed during rush hour traffic; hazardous and to keep traffic flowing. Street deliveries should also be limited for the exact same reason. NYC limits delivery times for that reason.
