I see a huge issue here. WHY are rent prices in P.A a lesser city , much HIGHER than Saskatoon? Im looking at a apartment 2 bedroom with utilities for 500 a month in stoon where as im renting a 2 bedroom with utilities in P.A for 875 a month....something has to be done.

I am not sure where you are looking either. I was paying $425 a month for a one room place in Caswell Hill back in 2003. I looked at places in 2008 when I wanted to move back and even the ones in Pleasant Hill and Riversdale were more that then.
I think it might be a combination of factors. I know just after I got my house, another company took over and jacked the rent. Actually, the owner raised the rent about $150 dollars which I guess is not back considering I was there for 6 years. But now it has doubled in rent from what I hear from my old neighbours.
I think it might be a combination of factors such as demand. I am not sure why the demand is there. The population seems pretty stagnant. I also think some new companies came into town.
I would like an answer about it and also why the house prices are so high too. Nothing has changed since the mill closed up. There is NO BOOM going on. I can understand cost going up, inflation etc. But doubling the rent and house costs since I moved into town. Really? Finally paying proper market value and undercharging renters is not an explanation. What were landlords doing when they were not raising rent. How about homeowners and realtors?

The whole reason people rent out properties is for the INVESTMENT. If you have a problem with rents being so high - become a home owner and then you can complain about house costs and being house poor.
