Town forces are still out performing snow plowing and sanding operations.
The Town maintains a critical hill list for sanding / salting operations that are treated on a regular basis. Every effort is made to keep all streets in ideal conditions but overnight circumstances can change that.
Residents are advised to utilize Maple Street to Park Street to Atwood Ave to Glen Road to reduce the risk of spinning out and getting stuck in a snowbank.
Other tips include adding additional weight to vehicles, driving in a lower gear and utilizing the sand barrel on Glen Road.
The Hillside Apartment Complex is required to perform sand / salt operations in addition to the efforts of the Public Works Department. If you are a resident of the Hillside Apartment Complex contact your property manager to request they fulfill their obligations to sand / salt the hill as required per their original site plan approval (Attached). The Town will do the same.
