Proposed guardrail fix

I live close and travel through here several times daily. I've literally seen cars traveling west skidding off the road nearly hitting the power pole, in my opinion generally due to excessive speed and wet slippery conditions when I've seen it. Like the idea of a guard rail but the incidence of headons may increase here if it bounces them into oncoming eastbound traffic. Just something to consider.

Ah, I didn't think of that, Robbie. Maybe even surrounding the poles with barrels filled with sand or water might do the trick (the same technique is used in NASCAR to protect the blunt end of the pit road wall at select tracks). Many times when it is raining, I see fresh muddy tracks in the poor guy's yard who lives on the descent of the road going West. For people who have never been on this road before, it is easy to misjudge the corner, despite having the "curve ahead" and reduced speed sign.

The reference provided is for 231/431, not the area with the problem. Can you provide the correct reference please?

Agreed, m.robbie. The reference given above is for 231/431, which is under ALDOT purview; whereas, this issue is about a problem ON Bob Wade Lane, which is City of Huntsville's territory.

Was able to find this on the city of Huntsville site. Huntsville Northern Bypass, Pulaski Pike to US431 Project # 65-10-RD08 but sure would like to see any additional info, maps, drawings, etc... if you have them available for public consumption.
