Leave it open. There's always the possibility that someone responsible for this area will notice and care enough to respond and take action. I pray it will not take a bad accident to bring attention to this hazardous situation.

People regularly drive 50+mph down this drag strip of a road. There needs to be some kind of traffics calming here.

Nobody in Arlington or other officialdom seems to monitor these notices or care enough to respond in any way. I deem the situation hopeless but don't want to cancel out either, even if 121 days have gone by. Perhaps some helpful reader knows a town official & can communicate concern directly

Part of the problem might be that the crosswalk is right on the Arlington/Cambridge border but a speed bump would almost certainly be in Arlington. Constituent services are the "bread and butter" of most elected officials. Reach out to an Arlington selectman for suggestions as who to talk to in town government. Fire departments are very leary of speed bumps. They say that they damage fire engines. A raised crossing, like those in front of schools might be a better way to go. A problem there is, is the crosswalk in Arlington or Cambridge? Poking around with Google search I saw hints that the Access Road is a state road, in which case you'll need to reach out to the Mass. Department of Transportation and State Representative Dave Rogers might be able to help.

The crosswalk may be in Arlington, but if the access road is owned by the state (like Fresh Pond Parkway- it's in Cambridge but owned by the state) - good luck getting any enforcement or fixes.
